Up to 10%.

Reduced if you don't use them 'often enough' as they want to reward their regular 'loyal' customers.

Things must be getting tight, I only use them if im desperate as theyre too pricey.

I think it's unrealistic to expect 10% across the whole range, some products don't have that much in them.

Can't comment on CMS as I haven't used them , however if they turnover say 500k
A year, 10% is a lot to lose .
Please bear this in mind if you want / need a local bike shop.

Sorry Biff me ole mucker, i dont get this, i spend my money here there and every where including CMS, if they offer a discount i will take it.

Surley a retailer will offer a discount on the assumption folks will use it and after consideration as to if the business can take it, I'm the customer im not responsible for there business plan. Also if they did turn over £500k a year, the 10% from trf discount would only apply to a small amount of that not all of it.

I had a big hand in arranging and maintaining these club discounts and i do know that retailer had no problem offering us a discount, i some cases it was offered without having to ask.

And appart from all the above, they also do it to show us support in out fight to keep green laning alive, or at least they did when we were a RoW lead group!

This comes up from time to time on this forum no

Some people like CMS, some don't.

Personally I've never had a problem with them & have always found them helpful & always had discount.

Pete says Up to 10%.

Reduced if you don't use them 'often enough' as they want to reward their regular 'loyal' customers.

I use them maybe once or twice a year so wouldn't class myself as that.

At the end of the day, if you want to only use internet shops then do so, but don't complain when all the shops are boarded up .

I like to try stuff on first, a medium helmet in one brand could be a large in another etc.

It's a pain in the arse returning stuff that doesn't fit.

I've been to CMS (which stands for Complete Motorcycles Service) this afternoon and bought a Wolf Titanium Jacket.    Well, Mrs. Cubber bought it me for my birthday later in the month. smile

I got 10% discount on the promise of showing the TRF card next time I'm passing - just so the membership number can be added to the sale data.

I have only been to CMS a couple of times before since moving to Devon in 2010 so I'm no regular there. disbelief

The stock they hold is comprehensive.  The showroom, today, was on the cold side but at least the cat that was mooching around was friendly.

I am well satisfied with their service , chatty-ness and customer attention.

No complaints with them. I'll be visiting again (if only to show my TRF card)

Martyn

Still 10% off the profit margin regardless. So either they will bump up prices
In store , or have less in reserves to carry them through the tougher times.

Taking in - stock / staff / rates / electric /gas /rent / taxes / admin., Its tough
Times out there @ the moment

But then I'm probably wrong.

CMS are not too pricey.
They sell a range unrivalled by anyone in the South West.
They sympathise with our aims and offer discounts for TRF members, favouring those who shop there more often with a maxiimum discount of 10%.
If you want clothing or parts sourced locally to help you enjoy the lanes we enjoy the right to ride then please support them.

Use it or lose it - like sex drive, or lanes, or Pontiffs I guess? Sorry this is my first post... I was here before but should explain I am slightly right of centre and as a retailer my mate told me every shop is screwed by the Internet the prices are almost at trade and anyone overstocked sells at less than trade for cash flow. No room for a margin for bloke to take a wage by knowing what screw fits what hole anymore . So look to your conscience, if you checks what you need with the helpful chap at the desk and then feel good by knowing what you need and beating his price by 10% ....? You should be ashamed in my opinion. What price is the cost of the quality of learned folk and local service? I believe in discounts applied discretionally. I hope my second post is funnier.

As a buyer i am looking to get value for money, if i feel my pants being pulled down i go elsewhere. Shop and Internet prices are always going to be different, however i have noticed over the years that the internet bike shops do not last long as someone mentioned they do undercut by some margin then realise that they are not making much profit and put there prices back up, so the customer then goes looking for cheaper elsewhere, swings and roundabouts.

CMS and other bike shops have a leen time in the winter so please support them, going cheap does not mean the best service and if you need that special part do not expect the expert help on the internet, time and knowledge means a lot more than just looking at a fiche.
