I stopped in an interesting shop yesterday well up country whilst on my travels, it was a shop selling biking gear but on a personal level. The shop wasn't particularly massive but it was stocked with good examples of stuff people would want to buy from clothing to parts, which got me thinking. Would there be a demand in Devon for such a place?

Looking at it realistically we have what one or two places where you can try on things and get parts your looking for, so what do u think is there still a demand for biking shops or has the Internet effectively destroyed this avenue of business?!

I'm an internet fan (just thought I'd make that clear right off the bat)biggrin

I've taken a chance on the sizing and most times it's been okay. I've never been to a shop to try before ordering on-line but that is the problem/fear I'd have with doing what you've proposed.

If you could somehow keep it club level I think you'd stand a chance.

I think a lot of the main retailers (eg MD racing) do a fair chunk of their business by going to race meets and selling from a van, they also have a shop in a busniess unit and sell by phone/online.

Yes i think there is a need!!

i always used to go to albion for all parts, or oils etc for the ktm. Plus clothing if there was a good deal on.

And i wont go to CMS anymore after the terrible service my brother recieved with his bike.

So now i have to use the internet or saltash ktm if the bike ever needs any big work doing.

For the technical stuff i use: http://www.davemassam.co.uk/

For husky parts i use: http://www.huskysport.co.uk/

For oil occasionally: http://www.brownsmotorcycles.co.uk/

So you see, dealing with real instead of virtual people is possible. biggrinbiggrin

Are you thinking of having a stocked van at events? Always seems a good add on model to a business.

Facebook page is coreenduro. I'm not officially aloud on here (hence the name) or use of my bros account. Thanks rick. so will have to think what to do on discount. But prob will. If I can advertise on here it seams wrong not to offer a discount.

Fingers crap. But was hoping to be better by the weekend. They wanted to wire it but recovery time was 8weeks rather than 4 weeks normal so Bugger that and left it its done my head in not riding for the last 2 weeks so I will have a bizzare shaped finger. It looks proper wrong but hey ho. Least I can ride as I shaped it in a shape of renthel fatbars. Lol. Jt it's drove me nuts not having Albion hence the need to get the online set up for close mates but I do think there's a need for it. Well hope so cos the websites costing enuff. Lol. And like buying and selling bikes. And love the rekluse i hold a fair bit of spares if anyone needs anything. The workshop will help out those who can't be doing with traveling. Tbh jack you did me a favour knocking me off in such a nasty way. Lol. Given me time to sort out stuff. Can't wait for the events. Epic grounds.
