I was thinking about this the other day when looking at how some cars are taxed less than my 250cc motorcycle - why should we pay any VED at all?  confuse

it is sort of a valid point but if they do this we will only get charged more for are cars and vans,   think they should start charging cyclists though and reduce everybodys road tax thats a much better idea biggrin also charge cyclist for insurance

VED is based on emissions, I have no idea how bikes compare with cars?

Camper van tax is £230 per year, does about 3k a year
Company car is £20 per year, does about 40k a year.
Bike is £50ish, does about 2k a year, and a good percentage of the miles are on unkept roads!

Doesn't make sense does it?
