Beta Alp 200

Just seen a picture of the new Beta Alp 200 ,has any one had one of these ?

They look good for the Tricky Devon Lanes ,im finding my ultra modern bike is more suited to mx tracks or fire breaks

Hi Ray

Don't know anything about the new ones, but a few weeks ago we (Harty, Tigerman, and Nick Pdo) were guided around wales. The leader was on a Beta Alp 200 ( it's a jap engine, Suzuki i think but not sure) anyway this guy way about 6 foot and a bit chunky, he lead at a brisk pace in the lanes and across open moor. About 50 to max 55 on the roads. I was very impressed with the bike light, nimble and reasonable quick (not enduro quick though). Did ever thing well.

Cheers Nick

I went for a ride with one last week. It gave me pause for thought a couple of times as I wondered whether it was wise for me to follow because the pilot is an expert trials rider and he was trying out potential sections for the Moor to Sea. He is six foot plus but it will carry him over or up anything he cares to aim it at. A very capable machine indeed. Uses a DR200 motor I believe and has the all important electric start. An ideal LDT machine.

i have one the same as above bought brand new last year i use it for LDT and have altered it a bit for this as a easy going trail bike its nice
not very powerfull but in trials trim with seat off etc with lower gearing i have rode in club trials and done ok its let down with its weight its heavier than a enduro bike i weighed it on scales in work wet with sumpguard and other bits it was 116kg but for LDT its very good i rode the jubilee trial last weekend and there were 4 of them first time ive seen another.build quality is good brakes are good servicing is easy its just hard to get at air filter if you want anymore info just ask
