Just took an Army Special off my KTM that was on the rear, it was okay, but was surprised at much it clogged up in mud and it was bloody slippery on wet Tarmac. Have gone over to the maxxis IT now, fantastic tyres front and rear, great in rocks, mud and really grippy. Last really well as well. £95 a pair delivered from Oponeo. In fact all the 7 riders from Herts had Maxxis tyres on as well

Telephoned this chap yesterday to get an army special for my ktm 690 and he didn't recomend it on that type of bike, He said not only was it the wrong size, Also it wouldn't last as it was meant for lesser powerd bikes.

He recomended a Mitas E09, I ordered it and it arrived next day! A good service i thought.

No answer when I rang at 4:45 today. Will try tomorrow for Sat delivery.
So how does it rate against a half worn C02?

I have one on the old twin shock Husky. It has transformed the bike and I am mightily impressed. So I fitted one to the old KLX, again, superb. I have not had any issues with wet or dry tarmac. I ran the Husky at 8psi at the weekend ..... brilliant !

I have the Mitas E09 rear on my Tenere Kev, great all round tyre. The army special is on the front. Both do what they are meant to, no problems on wet/dry tarmac either..

Trelleborg was very informative when trying to get tyres for Jake's XL125 with odd-ball tyre sizes. Order from him and I'm sure they were there the next day. Thumbs up from me!

 That's good enough for mesmile

Spoke to the block today, he reckons a 450 is the max size bike to fit these on the back of. Nice, knowledgeable bloke.

C02 will be going on later, as Sat Am delivery was more than I was prepared to pay.

Great tyre, good in the mud, great on corners, but it needs more time to be "worked in".
Spinning up in 3rd in a straight line on the tarmac though, but all the salt didn't help. Happy with my choice so far though.

The salt was lethal on Saturday. Much better today after the rain last night. The 644 was perfect. More than I can say for the AC10 at Tesco's roundabout on Sat !! WR Yam down biggrin
The 644 flew up Ruggadon and tally Ho.
