This was a new experience...

On Friday I popped over to Kingswear to watch the Typhoon and Red Arrows do their stuff. I took the GS and was riding down from Hillhead when I came up behind two cars and a scooter all following a Harley at the front. They were doing 40+ mph, I had plenty of time so didnt bother overtaking. I was aware of a Honda trail bike (no MT43 so probably non TRF) that I'd overtaken on the climb from Churston had caught up and tucked in behind as he too had no inclination to overtake.

Another bike, however, must have caught us up at great speed as the first I knew of him was when he overtook me and he wasnt going to be held up by the others either so, one by one, he dispatched the cars, scooter and Harley before disappearing into the distance.

OK, Ive been riding long enough and consider myself mature enough not to get bent out of shape about being overtaken by another bike yet this was different... the bike that so contemptuously dismissed our 40 mph procession didnt have an engine - it was a bicycle!

Cheers,

John
