Quick bike licence

A friend of mine wants to get a full bike licence, get a trail bike & ride the lanes ASAP.

Is there an intensive course out there, like for a car licence?

Any recommendations?

I suggested he get a 125 on L plates but he'd rather just get on with it.

need to book a theory test and do a cbt once they are done you can do mod 1 and mod 2 in the same week but if you fail either of the mods you will have to wait 2 weeks before booking next test

That's my understanding as well Mark as my brother-in-law is doing the same.

A word to the wise, if you can't get time off in the week you will be booking a long time ahead for a weekend theory test!

Theory then CBT (mine was the first of my 5 day DAC) then Direct access (4 or 5 days depending on confidence) - Done.

It all depends on age now I'm afraid.

If he's over 25 I think he can still tack his theory then just book onto a DAS( direct access course) but if not then he will need to take a A2 test then ride for a set time frame then take a second test before getting a full cat A1 licence

It's a long process for anyone young to get into biking these days!!!!

Would recommend triumph training in marsh Barton

Cheers
Sam

das still contains mod 1 and mod 2 but if your your under 24 your restricted to 33bhp so you will do the a2 test but once you reach 24 if you want to ride anything bigger you will have to do the das test

He's in his 30's.

He contacted several people advertising motorcycle training, most never got back to him & those that did seemed to make it sound like a load of hassle & hardly worth the bother.

What a great incentive for future bikers disbelief

He's still keen though smile

We've used Jed at two wheel training in topsham. He's got a minimal website that gives his phone number.

He's very good. I can name about ten people who've used him. Me included.
