Nope, not a Rocket Gold Star. That was a 650cc twin. This is the most beautiful engine of all time IMHO

It's a Gold Star, 500cc DBD34 engine with the must have steel tank. Could be a 350 but hard to tell the difference, I can't

To be right it should also have the RRT2 I think, close ratio gearbox. About 50mph in bottom gear. I'd love one worth about £12000

Oh and I haven't looked at any of my books so I could be a little bit out.

I forgot about the bath plug in the carbertooter. (Sorry cannot spell Carburettor)

Bob, I prefer the G50 engine for looks.

Yeh, I know what you mean but a G50 or 7R was never on the radar as something I aspired to own and the DBD 34 was..still is!

Interesting about the blue numbers, never knew that!

They are very nearly the most impractical bike on the planet.

Almost impossible to pull away without destroying the clutch.

Sound absolutely fantastic, brilliant fun to ride on the old A roads, lots of sweeping bends - such brilliant grin factor.

On the back of a mate of mine in the late 60s, 7 1/2 mins from Exe Vale road to Dawlish Warren mid Summer saturday - absolute suicide run.

Under the bridge before Kenton 90mph down the middle of the traffic, that focused the old brain cells - well young then.

Lived to tell the tale - Now dont you youngsters do anything quite that stupid!

Tee hee, not acceptable these days, ask Rolf Harris.
