newbie bike question

hello all,

After a fantastic day with Andrew in the rain, thunder and lightening in the south hams, both myself and the good lady wife have decided to take the plunge into your world of trail riding....(or hedgerow bouncing as we called it !).

It was only my 2nd and Heathers' first time so we don't have a lot to go on :

We both rode AJP 200's and they appear to be a user friendly novice machine...a forgiving long throttle roll on , light and easy to pick up,and not too tall to get on !!

My question is a bit open ended but I wondered if any of you have them or wouldn't touch them with a barge pole !!!

I know it's all subjective but all your thoughts would be welcome....

I could  afford to make a wrong choice for myself, but with the delight of her joining me comes the pain of buying two bikes not one !!!!

regards

Nigel

A CR500 is a wonderfully quick way to learn hard lessons, the hard way.

The AJP200 is probably at the other end of the scale.

Whatever you get do make sure you can reach the floor.

Unless you are both very tall this will limit choices severely. Most off road style machines have a 31inch or higher seat hight.

AJP200/Serow/Beta Alp would be good.

Was it you 3 I passed at the end of a lane (nr Halwell) on Sunday? I was with one other rider.

Would normally have stopped to say hi but had to get my riding buddy back to Totnes for 1.

So a belated hi.

I think you have chosen wisely indeed, lots of new laners buy a enduro rocket and fall off lots and loose interest very quickly.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the CRF230F yet.
