The Professionals - only 1 left :-(

Another childhood hero dies today - RIP to Lewis Collins aka Bodie in The Professionals.

Didn't realise he was 65!! And had been battling cancer for quite a while - unlike Martin Shaw, Lewis kept a lower profile in his latter years and I think had moved the USA.

He was the tougher of the two and his Ford Escort was better than Doyles Capri.

Lewis's film Who Dares Wins was a big fave of mine when I was teenager too.

I loved that movie, went to the pics to see it. Best programme on tv in the 70's/80's for me as a kid at 9pm Sunday nights

Working with my 16 year old nephew today, he said "who's he?" disbelief

I told him to watch the re-runs on ITV4 & see how good The Professionals was.

RIP Lewis Collins

I was quite shocked with the news. Last time I saw Lewis was probably back in the 90's. You tend to forget what a small passing of time does.
He was a great guy with a great sense of humour, and great fun to be around. (he too was also a skydiver !)

What a shame, cry a real hero back when men where men and cars where cross flowed and normanlly asperated.

Back in the day I was allowed to stay up late till 9pm to watch it. This was after playing outside all day destroying the enviroment, terrorising old folk,  and breaching many a helath and safety regulation.

I always wanted one of the twoway walky talkies they used, they looked a bit like a battery shaver if i remember, Ha! I had a battery shaver once, and yes i did......
