So, what are the options for watching the Dakar on TV?

Unless you have Sky TV to watch Eurosport, I have found the best bet is to subscribe to http://www.eurosportplayer.co.uk/live.shtml Last January's subscription cost me £ 2.99 then you just cancel it!smile

Just joined up again but won't cancel, don't forget there's no Moto GB on BBC this year so hopefully it will be on Eurosport and there's a lot of other good stuff on there anyway.

No MotoGP on Eurosport, only BT are licensed to show it from 2014.

I tried looking into whether I should switch to BT to watch the moto GP 2014. This link helps you decide.

MotoGP on UK TV... Will you be able to watch it? - | Motorcycle News | Bike News | Motorbike Videos | MCN

I already have Sky and as it will cost £12 a month extra to watch the GP I guess I won't. Sky will have Dakar (can't wait) WSB and BSB plus all the supersports races. Happy Xmas

Currently have virgin package seems the motogp is not available through them. Bit gutted, as I quite enjoy watching the motogp's but I'm not going down the BT route, at least the Dakar is still available on Eurosport for now

Seems like the British moto gp fans have been right royally shafted....again

I think you can still get MotoGP through your Virgin subscription - at least my neighbour thinks he has it for next year.......which is where I'll be watching it as I have cancelled my Sky subscription. Certainly not going to pay an extra £12 a month on top of the £25 for Sky just to watch Marquez dominate again. BSB was, I think, shown on ITV4 last year so may be again?

Always been a huge moto gp fan and world superbikes in the foggy years but even l have to admit that VR is past his best and now Honda have the bike fully sorted Marquez should win easily so BSB it is this year as some of the battles last year were phenominal.

TM - just been on the Eurosport site to sign up for a month just to watch the Dakar and it's £4.99 per month on a month by month basis or £2.99 but you have to sign for 12 months. Not sure how easy it will be to get out of the contract if you take the latter option?

Anybody want to own a real dakar bike....

Jenny Morgan is selling her 2011 Yamaha WR450

advrider.com/forums/showthread.php

Despite the amazing price I have totalled up what I could get from selling everything I own (that the wife wouldn't notice were missing) and a number of my internal organs and I'm still short.... But someone could bag themselves a dakar bargain, with plenty of history, and help get another Brit into next years dakar!

If you don't watch an event the result will be the same.  You can always watch it on youtube later.  Could subscribe to MotoGP.com???.

Life goes on whether you are watching it or not!

biggrin HAPPY NEW YEAR PEEPS! biggrin

Looks like they have sussed us out!! Only a twelve month contract now available, when you look at the small print.

Simmos advice seems the best if you don't want pay. Your not from Yorkshire are you Mr Mingle?wink

It's on Sky tonight, and also here www.dakar.com/index_DAKus.html

If you have a smart tv then it is quite easy to link via uTube and watch on a decent size screen.

You are a tease Mark no

Took me a while to find that Sam went out with engine trouble on Stage 4 -  Barredas teammate, Sam Sunderland, was also hit with engine troubles, and was forced to drop out of the race. The team is currently investigating what happened to Sunderlands engine, which stopped running during the liason.

These riders are riding on the edge, it's flat out all day. No wonder there are casualties.
