Is the brake piston in the caliper moving at all when you pull the brake lever in?

It does seem odd, easiest thing to do would be to get the front wheel off and pump the brake lever a couple times to see if the piston moves a little or is completely stuck.

If that is the problem, see here

Not sure what system you have on your bike, but first thing to check is that there is free play between the lever and the 'plunger' that goes into the master cylinder. If there is no free play the system can lock.

There should be 5-10mm of free play on the lever before it starts to move the piston in the master cylinder.

after inspection there was no fluid left in the reservoir so i bleed the system backwards and it done the trick nicely

Wouldn't the brake lever be really easy to press if there wasn't any brake fluid!? confuse

Good thing it's sorted either way, see you at CORE biggrin
