blue or red

what bike is better in your eyes I ride a ktm but really wanted either a wr250 allow frame or a Honda crf 250x

now having owned a ktm it will be my last ktm I will ever own they just seem to temperamental where the Honda and Yamaha seem to be pretty bullet proof

so come on lets have it yet another blue or red

Sorry I'm biased RED all the way for me smile Started at sixteen with a MT50 and always preferred Honda's since, had plenty of other makes over the years but give me a HONDA any daysmile Have a CRM250 and CRF450X AT THE MOMENTbiggrin

Now then children I have been riding red since 1972 and have no plans to change.

Hopefully this year will see the return to the lanes of my XL250 K0 Motosport 1972 vintage, bought it last year bit of a basket case but it still fired up second prod.

Tinkered with a lot of things over the years but for sheer reliability without endless hours of constant maintenance RED every time

However if you are thinking of using a Lead Wing for laning its probably a tad heavy to drag out of the mud.

when I was looking I wanted a crf but nothing was local then the ktm came up in bude and looked different not so orange so I bought it kind of wished I didn't but ha ho got it now

If a bike has been used and abused before you buy it - problems will occur, no matter what colour. Some bikes are more robust than others, however most green laner bikes are chosen from the Enduro biased bikes - designed with racing in mind. So staying on top of maintenance is paramount.
That being said, KTMs do need you stay right on top of the maintenance, the others can be a "little" (at best) more forgiving.

I did love my WRs when I had them. And they served me well. Never been a big Honda nor Suzuki fan (even from my road bike days - and I have owned a GP100, X7, TS125, 250 Superdream, XLR250, DRZ400e, and CBR600RR3) so I've had my fair share of Red and a Yellow.

I have definately turned fully orange now. Even if I went back to 4T the 250exc-f would be one of the top of my list (with a possible consideration for a 350exc-f).

Sounds like you purchased a bike wich already had issues , I had a wr 250 which was a great bike to ride then up graded to a ktm 400 in my opinion far better bike and actualy feels lighter to ride than the wr not temperamental at all

I must admit since having said work done it does seem a lot better now I got past the problems of being allergic to water but most recent problem is it seems to get hot easyer than it used to and start steaming up it happened at escot on thehill climb mainly but when I got back to top the water back up hardly any had gone iven though I think I smoked out the whole woods

I think its luck of the draw I bought a exc 450 before xmas and have had no end of problems with it haven't even taken it out for longer than twenty minutes and its now in the garage having a new cam shaft and bearings like someone said they are race bikes so its to be expected just some people don't look after there bikes and some pass them on knowing about problems

I love Hondas and wanted a CRF for quite while. But I think when it comes parting with the money it will be a WR as they take some serious abuse and neglect but keep on going.
Also seems to be more knowledge about on the WR.

Why design a bike that needs to have onedisbelief My HONDA CRF450X doesn't have one and has never needed one, just something else to go wrong.

I've got one of those hot air exchanger thingies, works a treat no over heating or anything like it, relieves back pressure as well, added bonus in my view wink

Still under extreme testing at the moment but results are looking promising, got to be cautions on what fuel to use the night before biggrin
