Very proud dad

DSCF0222.JPGTook my boy all the way down to Fraddon, south of Bodmin for his first Oset electric trial bikes trial, great atmosphere, very friendly crowd, Sam had a ball & learnt loads. 6 sections, all run 3 times, so lots of riding time, some of the section quite tricky for them, but they all had a good go. Then found out at the end that he had only got first place for his age and group, very proud moment. Hope to go back for the next event in a few weeks time.

You must be very proud.
I'd love to get my boy doing this. What age did you start him off at?

We started of last summer (when he was 5) with a very early Oset, learning to ride it on the Sidford rugby pitches, then up on to the local fire roads on Mutter Moor and then into the woods up at White Cross. With this wet winter, it's been quite good, mild but really slippery, so he has got really comfortable with going sideways biggrin

As he said he wanted to try some events (we had also spent some time watching as many local trials event as possible) I looked at the bike, worked out that I would need to spend about the same as changing it to a 2 year old bike, so that's what we did, lot better suspension, brakes, battery capacity ,tyres etc. These were both 24v 16" wheels. (turned out only a fifty pound difference in the end, residual prices for these on ebay is really good)

Oset also do a 12" wheeled version, also 24v, oh and they all have an adjustable pot to control the top speed. I've seen 3 year old ride these, even some fitted with stabilisers.  There was one lad yesterday who was a 4 year old at the trial on a 12", footed it most of the way round the sections but did them all and loved it, always smiling.

Cheers Steve
