On a boat off Dawlish is best.  If you don't fancy the crowds in Dawlish then the harbour wall in Exmouth is not a bad place to watch.

Smugglers Inn, between Teignmouth & Dawlish has a good view + you can get a beer.

Warren to Dawlish is open with a small divert round the main breach last time I walked it.

i think the bit up near Smugglers on the Teignmouth side is still shut though.

Thanks for the tip about watching from Exmouth. Mrs TTR took a couple of the ankle biters down to watch and little Mackenzie was most impressed!

Unfortunately I had to stay home to do some essential work but I caught sight of a pair of old bombers flying low over the village on their way back home - very impressive - shame I have no idea what they were cry

Those "old bombers" were probably the last surviving (flying) Lancasters -

There's a local write up here:

You could compare what you saw, with the photos of all aircraft that took part:

Cheers,

Thanks Andy - 99% sure that that it was the Lancasters - nice to have seen them so low.

Think this summers air shows across the UK may be the last time that the two remaining (airworthy) lancasters would be seen flying together, one normally lives in Canada and made the trip across very recently.

Best listened to with the sound, and the bass, turned right up. I heard the rumble of the Lancasters from all the way up on top of Dartmoor! Eight unsilenced 27 litre V12 motors is hard not to notice. Music for petrol heads.

The Royal Navy Westland Sea King flew over me a couple of times on its way there and back too. Busy skies that day with the air ambulance out and about as well.
