Beta 300RR or XTrainer?

Had a look at both of these at Thor today and am no further forward really ha! Both bikes are great and decent value for money. At 6'2" worried that the XTrainer might be a bit cramped!? Any words of wisdom haha?

The Husky will be making way for a modern 2 smoke in the close future...hopefully!

Thanks

Crock

The 2016 racing is out in November! They are lovely bikes - the parents have offered to loan the money...with 0% interest haha! Want a bike I can keep for 5+ years!

I'd be interested in people's thoughts as I've looked at both!!!

Taken Ray's RR for a spin and must say its a lovely bike now the suspension has been broken in 😎.. But I'm a short are a d think the mellower and 1" lower x-trainer is very tempting as I won't ride the RR to its full 👍🏻

Not ridden either beta, but i down own a gasgas pampera which i think is a similar concept to the xtrainer and a pretty small bike.

I'm 6'4" and its really comfy with my high bend bars and a small bar riser (extra bar clamp tops under the bar), i can trail ride all day on it with no twinges etc. I was pretty worried before getting the bike but now wouldn't hesitate over getting another smaller framed bike.

Note the Xtrainer has oil injection and the 2016 RR will have it - no premix.......smile

That's the main reason I'm going for a Beta next! I like LDTs and the motors are brilliant!

6'4" on a Pamp! That's impressive, any photos?

The racing versions will remain premix

Au contraire ;  Beta USA news

It's nice to see a company still working on two smokes.

Maybe VW are helping get it through Euro 5 compliance!

Have ridden a 2015 racing 300 and agree the motors are awesome! Only thing I would say is the steering lock on it wasn't huge which might mean it is a handful in the tighter LDT sections so the X trainer might be a better option?

RR 2T MY 2016

Automatic Oil Injection System

The big news for the 2016 RR Enduro 2T models is the introduction of Betas electronic oil injection system on both the 250 and 300 RR models. This system was introduced in 2015 on the Xtrainer model and has proven to be a huge success among Beta owners. This new feature ensures a perfect fuel-oil mix under any conditions and engine speed while saving riders from having to pre-mix.

The Racing version comes with a longer fork 30mm longer  , in the video given with the Racing model it say for tight woods raise it to the 3rd mark which is 5mm more than a ktm fork which makes it turn awesome

I thought making it shorter made it turn quicker - Have I misunderstood?

That is correct , raising the forks in the clamps makes it turn tighter , they come longer so you can ride Sand or high speed tracks if you wish

Sounds like a modern version of Hondas CRM250 ,would recommend running on good oils such as silkoenes comp2 it's now recommended for pri mix and injection T2 motors I have some £10.00 Lt. would run a lot cleaner no more gummed up power vales etc

I wouldn't ever put silko in a bike be it a gear box or 2 stroke.

You have a choice
X Trainer       Trail bike and entry Enduro ,saw one perform in Wales in the right hands it was amazing
300RR           Full on Enduro
300Racing     Full on Enduro but with more adjustable parts making it good for tight stuff too and Programmable  ,1or 2k more than 300rr also not oil injected

Thats interesting, My dad would never use it because he siezed a tractor many many years ago running on it and put it down to silko oil which at the time he found out contained a high percentage of recycled oil.......

Don't know if that is correct and it was 40 years ago though wink

Did a trail bike trial today and there was a chap riding a X trainer, he was well chuffed with it, he mentioned that the power and suspension is a fair bit softer than on the RRs and Racing but perfect for tight woods riding. It looked very trick :)

http://www.enduro21.com/index.php/40-general/143-first-look-2016-beta-rr-racing going backwards on the front forks compared to 2015 racing? Like the exhaust design on these alot more ground clearance above the frame line!
