Hi All

I am looking to get the rear wheel rebuild on the outfit, it keeps breaking spokes so want to get them uprated so they can stand a bit more lateral load.  Does anyone know of someone who does this sort of thing for a good price locally, or has anyone got any suggestions for a really strong 18 inch rear wheel that I can make fit.

Your ER5 should have about the same power as a 650 single trail/dual sport bike so you could look for a decent DR650/KLR/XR650 etc. wheel if your current one is a bit too weedy?

Not sure it would be much cheaper than rebuilding what you have with beefy spokes though

Trev, before you too far down the road in money terms .... speak to other sidehack riders and see what they do.

 Thanks for the ideas, I think its the lateral loads that break the spokes.
