Don't forget Africa eco race its on eurosport as well.

 I was at Corkys yesterday and the bikes ready plus he has been doing a serious amount of training so should do well............. I reckon within  top 2 in the class if all goes as planned.

is anyone clued up on the coverage of the eco race?

only evidence i can find of it on eurosport is highlights of stage 3, midnight on 2nd Jan? are they just skipping stage 1 and 2?

 lyndon is in dakar which hast started yet ............... (although he is sick and struggling to get ready for the start)

 

corky is doing the eco race but not looking good for him with bike problems

Didn't realise they were different races!

So the old Dakar is now running in S America and a new Dakar (the Eco) was born to replace it running the old route in Africa?

I think I got it......

Exactly, the eco race also seems to lack the class restriction dakar rally now has, for e.g. all dakar bikes must be 450cc these days, i think Chris Cork on the eco race is riding a 950 KTM twin

also they are running the eco at the same time as the dakar, presumably to stop the big budget racing teams all showing up
