Bought a KTM front wheel for my CCM, all wheel spindles 20 or 26mm dependant on year, either would do etc.

No WRONG, early exc have 17mm and no about of messing about with bearings etc will allow a 17mm wheel to be adapted to 20mm!

Hence the request, so long as hub is good, the rim with my wheel is 36 spoke, I can manage.

I had a very similar problem with a road bike. I bought a second hand 20mm rear spindle and had it machined down and an insert made for the nut side.

Thanks Nige, did think of doing that, maybe still will.
It was more a case of keeping everything "standard", to allow quick swap to super moto, if the urge so took me.
Probably wont / shouldnt ;)
