Mystery lane

This is a new Unsuitable for motors sign to replace the one flailed into the hedge many years ago. I am astonished it was replaced as the sign is at least 3/4 of a mile from tarmac and it has been many years since it was feasible to drive a normal car that far. I believe the last four wheeled user was Vic Ashford who confessed to having had to get the farmer to drag his pick up back up the lane when it got stuck. Anyone recognise it?

It always makes me laugh how far this sign is down the lane. Then you hit the last bit of the lane a realise why.

I've often seen 4x4 tyre marks that go past this sign, but come to a stop 200m later, meaning a long reverse.

Pete, your mystery lane challenges are usually harder for me than this, maybe because this time it's local to me, I'll let it run.

I can see it from my house the other side of the estuary.

 Well spotted sir, quite so.

The ground beside the steps has become eroded severely and the small grassy area beside shows how high the ground used to be as this grassed bit is also part of the road and used to be where one could swing around to get a run at the climb. The repair around behind the house is holding up well enough with the only sign being medium sized rocks starting to protrude above ground, where once there was a four foot rock step.
