I hope it does what you want it to do Brian
An original DBD 34 would definitely get my attention if I was looking to park some cash in a safe place but a retro not quite replica from India would seem to me to be a less safe idea .

Does it have electric starter?  The originals could launch you into outer space if you got it wrong.

The new Goldie is a bike for riding, not a show queen to hide away under a dust cover for most of its existence. A totally practical daily drive - apparently wink

It'll depreciate the same way as my current Kawasaki W800 retro....

A good enough reason to buy then.
I look forward to hearing that classic rumble from that exhaust and the header pipe does look larger than the original so perhaps an even better rumble and reverb

That large header pipe is also a cover. The exhaust running behind turns in at the bottom of the engine, through a cat/silencer and back out to the header cover and then towards the pea-shooter. (see 3.20)

 

and at the start here (exhaust at 1.50)

 

I think they should have made the radiator a bit narrower but taller.

Looks nice though.

I researched it today and see that Mahindra are behind it.

I have an RE Continental GT and it is really excellent. I love it (especially when its the right way up).

Hi Ian,

Primarily air cooled, but there is also a paperback-sized oil cooler on the frame under the steering head, which is quite discreet.

Fit n finish is very good, overall. The seat cowl, 2 into 1 pipe and bar end mirrors are my additions. The pipe is way lighter than the stock ones and sounds ace, too.

My brother got the sit up Interceptor model in met orange, which looked fab. I preferred the mock clip ons look of the cafe racer Continental as I am the more racer of the two of us, although were both over 60!

 

I always say its the kinda bike my Dad would have wanted!
