North Devon run from South Molton

So, todays North Devon run from South Molton didnt go quite to plan!

We arrived in the cattle market car park at nine and started to unload , we started chatting and Trevor Foxon asked me about Mousses as he was thinking of swapping over to them, then he said he wasnt sure as he couldnt remember the last time he had had a Puncture, BIG MISTAKE!!!!

Today he had one puncture, so we removed the tube and changed it the old one was worn through on the side wall, so we carried on for a few more miles and then another punchure , just before we got to Woolacombe, so we limped into the garage there and tried some tyre weld as we had no puncture repair kit, we werent overly happy with the tyre weld but carried on towards the lovely coast path lane at ilfracombe but it wasnt to be it was flat again, we put the remainder of the can in but it still wasnt holding , so as time was against us we decided to head back, only trouble was we were about as far from are start location as we could be 45 minutes dash on main roads but with a flat rear tyre, off we went !! After about five minutes Trev nearly had an off when the back end stepped right out even on a straight so we decided it was a better idea to put his spare front tube in the back, once done off we set again and finally got back to the car park around 5, still a great day and most of the lanes that we did were new to both of us, Im sure well be back to finish the route one day, purple track in pic one is what we did, blue we didnt complete, thanks Trev for another adventure, I recommend BIB mousses

Thanks for the report it sounded like fun and more of an adventure. That muddy water hole looks a bit deep or is it deceptive? Theres one on Wales like that but about 4 foot deep and Ive seen a bike which you could just make out the handlebars under the surface.

I have been a longtime fan of mousses

A while ago I had a 3inch slash in the sidewall of a tyre that went right through the tyre. I rode the rest of that day on it and the next day

We have all been there.
Makes a long day even longer
When you go out next time you will enjoy it even more
As the old saying goes. By the grace of God go I.

I think I feel a new rule coming, from now on. I'm only going out with people who have mousses fitted !!
