202-004 Blocked Note for T2T planning

During a recce yesterday one of the classic runs out from Parkers is blocked.

Not only that but its a narrow lane and you need to be able to pivot turn to head back down. Or reverse which is what we did taking quite some time.

so unless a clearance has taken place avoid this on your T2T planning.

The lane is just east of Gale, South by 500m of Bickington and oriented N/S with North end dropping onto A383.

Our esteemed chair working out if he can shift it or leap over on his crf.

That's normally a pretty busy lane on T2T.

Think you got wrong number! That looks to me the tree we where going to clear in 202-004

Someone has cut up trees and left root ball to fall in lane.

So still as per GRM then

Don't forget if you find a new obstruction or a lane description that you feel needs updating, there is an email link on each GRM page.

If the Land owner has cleared the trees, I wonder if he will remove the root or just say it's clearedconfuse

It was cut to allow it to fall into the lane, and the cut ends were chucked in afterwards, I think

Would take some muscle to shift it out of the way.

Im surprised that whoever trimmed that original significant blockage wasnt able to pull the base out during the exercise.

Is there much mud on the trunk? or can it be cut back a bit further?

John H is planning to speak to the landowner on the eastern side of 202-004, to if he has a tractor that could pull the rootball out of the way. If not, I'm sure I could reduce it in size to make it passable.

And on the subject of lanes in this area, there are currently drainage works taking place at the northern end of 202-005 (GRMUID 5522) where it meets the A383, but you can still access via the tarmac service road that runs parallel with the Ashburton Road.

I offered my generous services on the 1st January stating a date in three weeks time........

Here

Three tonne Tirfor lifting winch which doubles in tonnage for dragging

snatch block 8 tonne

2 x slings 3 tonne

2 x 5 tonne slings unused

Too many chain saws to list

Felling bar plus iron bar for prying

A standing tree could be used as an 'A frame' for lifting/hauling stumps over bank

3 weeks time sounds good, this will also enable DCC PRoW to act as Neil has reported this into PRoW

Having local landowners on board would be a huge advantage with access to adjacent fields, trees, limbs could be sliced smaller for easier lifting/moving

Thanks to all for their much needed support & enthusiasm its great to see smile
