Mousses

Any body using mousses for green laning? If so have you had any trouble with police. Also what about effects on MOT and insurance as I gather they are not road legal?

Cheers guys

Andy

Hi Andy, I have used Mousses for the last 10 years or more now with no issues. I fit a valve cut off from an old tube onto the rim so it still looks standard. This is also useful when you have a stubborn tyre that wont seat the bead. You can use a compressor through the valve stem to pop the mousse and tyre into place.
I couldnt comment on the insurance aspect if in a crash etc

Like Jack I have been running mousses for over 10 years.  I too fit valves (Tube less ones) and like Jack use them to seat the tyre on the bead. The guys who MOT my bike have never commented on my use of mousses.
I dont think many police officers would know whether you are running mousses or not.
